Brian Wilson biopic premiere

Brian Wilson has arrived in Toronto for the city’s International Film Festival where his biopic will make its world premiere on Sunday, September 7 at 9:30 PM.  The film, which borrows its title from Wilson’s 1988 debut solo LP track “Love & Mercy”, is billed as spotlighting his “rise to stardom with the Beach Boys in the sixties and his remarkable eighties solo resurgence,” and “an empathetic portrayal of Wilson’s personal experience.”

Director Bill Pohlad has produced several critically acclaimed and award-winning films, including Brokeback Mountain, The Tree of Life, Food, Inc. and Twelve Years a Slave.

Paul Dano plays the younger Wilson while John Cusack takes the role of Wilson as an adult making his return to the studio and stage in the 80’s.
